7 Useful Habits to Improve Your Intelligence
Our brain is like a muscle: you need to train it for its development. Let’s see how to do that on purpose.
1. Be Curious
I have no special talents. I am only passionately curious.
Are you curious? Do you just believe things or try to get to their point? Be curious and learn how the world functions.
You can start with everyday things and events. For instance, try to find out what ingredients of bread are, what parts are used to assemble a computer, what the surface and the volume of our planet is, what gases atmosphere contains, etc. These are only several examples to get your mind busy with.
Curiosity has always been the feature of all geniuses. A curious mind is eager to generate new ideas. Keep your mind open and be ready to find out new things all the time.
2. Read Books and Articles not Connected with Your Professional Field
Try to broaden your outlook: read about space journeys or try to start learning anthropology and genetics or something not connected with your current job.
Read biographies of the greatest inventors. Get out of your comfort zone and find out new things about the world. You won’t just become smarter like that, but become an interesting collocutor, too.
3. Train Your Brain
Special brain exercises is able to improve your intellectual abilities. Like physical exercises, mind practices are equally important to develop your intelligence. Start with simple exercises and move to the more complicated ones gradually.
4. Go in for Sport
It is not enough to practice only brain exercises. A healthy brain is in a healthy body. Physical exercises are useful not only for your muscles. They intensify the blood flow to your brain and stimulate the creation of new neural connections with protein production.
5. Learn New Things
Learning something new is a perfect brain stimulation. Here we can mention Steve Jobs and his passion for calligraphy during studentship years. During his well-known speech for Stanford graduates, he said that if he wouldn’t attend that calligraphy course, Mac couldn’t have its fonts as excellent as they were.
You’ll never guess which knowledge will be useful. So, learn new things. You can start with the courses on online education platforms.
